President Trump has determined that the U.S. will have no part in the Paris Climate agreement; therefore, I feel compelled to prepare my flock for disastrous consequences.  The rivers, ponds and pools shall turn to blood; we shall be covered up with frogs; the dust of the earth will morph into lice; flies will descend upon us by the bazillions; large animals will be affected by a “very grievous murrain;” mankind can anticipate an affliction of boils and abscesses; hailstones are expected to pummel our crops into oblivion; locusts are projected to darken the sky with insatiable  appetites for all that is green, and finally, your babies are going to die. (see Exodus 7-12)  If the fear mongers have left a few of these prophecies out, it’s only a matter of time before they shall be included. When it comes to doom and destruction the Bible is the final authority on the description of such.  The Left finds great difficulty in separating themselves from a Book they hold in such disregard.  God truly does have an unusual sense of humor.

The major difficulty with this and all other climate agreements is that the U.S. is expected to implement further regulations that continue to cripple our economy while China and India are given the liberty to implement rules of their own making.  Gene Edward Veith has well written:  “A big part of the problem is that the current environmental movement has been hijacked by the far left.”  Doomsayers use ad hominem arguments against those who disagree with them – a sign of a weak case and a refusal to enter into reasonable dialog.  Those who believe we must act now dominate public discussion and are served by a biased media.  Any objectors are ignored or shouted down, being described as ignorant of science.

Michael J. Oard, holder of two degrees in Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington and who worked as a meteorologist for the U.S. National Weather Service for thirty years, has offered the following:  20,000 scientists, of whom about 2700 are physicists, geophysicists, climatologists, meteorologists, oceanographers, or environmental scientists, and who are in a position to understand the global warming issues, have signed the following statement:  “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the earth’s climate.  Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the earth.”  Quite often accurate science can be rendered by ordinary folks who have a keen eye of observation.  A friend of mine who lives in the Northeast and is in a position to know told me the most sought after maple syrup trees are along the roadside.  It seems these trees that are regularly exposed to carbon dioxide produce more syrup per gallon of sap than those in the deep woods.

The Bible holds God Almighty responsible for all hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, famines, typhoons, floods, and necessary weather conditions such as sunshine, rain and snow. (Psalms 147:8; 65:6-13)  All Bible writers are “creationists.”  Not one is an “evolutionist.”  All human authors of Scripture (as directed by the Holy Ghost…II Peter 1:21) knew that evolution was just a fairytale for grownups, invented by immoral intellectuals who had an emotional panic attack at the thought of facing God in judgment.

Iben Browning, a nationally known scientist and climatologist, stated:  “Man is not important to climate, but only to himself!”  He went on to suggest that the termite is more significant; termite flatus produces 260% as much carbon dioxide as all the burning fuel in the world.  When Dr. Browning was asked about the trees that are being cut down in the Amazon (contributing to the alleged greenhouse effect), he reminded us that they are being replaced by grass which produces six times as much photosynthesis and six times as much chlorophyll as hardwood trees which greatly increases the carbon dioxide-oxygen turnover.

The more discerning scientists have pointed out that chlorine is produced by fluorocarbons.  When Mt. St. Augustine erupted in Alaska, it was shown to put out 35 times as much chlorine as produced in the entire world…there are on average about thirty volcanoes per year.  Perhaps Al Gore, the man who invented the internet, can figure out a way to plug them up.

It is difficult for man to resign himself to his total insignificance.  “What is man, that thou are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4)  King David was amazed that God was interested in mankind---modern man would be amazed if He wasn’t.

God would have us to be good stewards of the environment in which He has placed us, but a great deal of the present humanistic movement exceeds common sense and good science.  As a Bible believer I find great comfort in Genesis 8:22:  “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”  These are the words of the Creator Himself. (Hebrews 1:2)  I am going to stick with the high probability that He knows more than anyone on the lunatic left!
