If a person has lived past the age of forty, they have most probably encountered someone who has stated they refuse to discuss religion or politics.  That declaration is an age old admission of a boring, shallow, unstimulating, monotonous life.  When conversations are limited to vocations, hobbies, sports, properties and the grandkids, only the finite is called upon to activate interest.  Although there may be an element of entertainment in these subjects, they eventually become tedious due to the lack of depth they offer.  To fish in the pool of the infinite is, on the other hand, an opportunity to explore the inexhaustible which stimulates cascading thoughts like endless dominoes.

The signature statement of introduction for this column recognizes a belief that the Bible is the greatest political science textbook on earth.  Politics left to their own devices can also become tiresome and repetitious, but when viewed through the prism of divine light the mundane refracts colors that are not observable by unbelievers.  If every verse in the Scriptures were categorized by subject, the numerical winner is politics, hands down.  Consider…kingdoms, kings, puppet nations, prophecies about nations, good and bad political actors, the politically motivated adversaries of Jesus and a myriad of similar contributions comprise an enormous body of Scripture.

When God created Adam He extended to him the privilege of dominion (Genesis 1:26) which is defined by Mr. Webster as “Sovereign or supreme authority; the power of governing and controlling.”  When King Adam disobeyed the Creator, his crown defaulted to the winner of the garden contest.  That Satan presently occupies a throne of authority was not even disputed by Jesus Christ when they dueled on the Mount of Temptation.  “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me” (Matthew 4:8,9). The powerful dictators of history were simply pawns on a satanic chessboard…Nimrod, Pharaoh, Sennacherib, Nebuchadnezzar, Darius, Alexander, and Caesar to name a few.  The Hitlers of the present are just images of the past (Ecclesiastes 3:15).

Because the Lord has purposed to provide light to penetrate the darkness, He periodically raises a nation to be the primary torch bearer.  For nearly 2,000 years God intended Israel to fulfill that role, but Jesus rebuked them for hiding their light under a bushel (Luke 11:33). When “thy kingdom come” is realized they will resume that role (Isaiah 66:19-21), but in the meantime, during the times of the Gentiles (Luke 21:24), Martin Luther’s Germany, Queen Victoria’s England, and the United States serve as good examples of God’s intervention.  Any people, corporate or individuals, who seek the liberty to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ are challenged, vilified and under constant attack.  The reason is actually quite simple…it’s the message of the Bible that presents the one real roadblock to a one world government under the leadership of the anti-Christ.  It’s impossible to enslave a Bible reading people because “where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (II Corinthians 3:17). The primary weapons in the satanic toolbox are politics and religion which are being utilized very effectively in modern America.  A refusal to discuss “religion and politics” does not alter an ugly reality.

One needs to look no further than present immigration demands of the Left to illustrate the point.  The Democrats have deserted the regular working class in favor of attempting to coalesce all possible minority aggregations.  The Muslims are now being courted to join this coalition for the purpose of building a voter block.  It matters not that they bring with them a religion that hates America and every person they classify as in infidel.  Mysteriously, the two groups which have absolutely nothing in common except minority status join forces to oppose any and all conservative agendas.  Hence, politics and religion are in lockstep against the truth that is intended to preserve freedom, but some folks don’t want to talk about it.  Stupid is as stupid does!

Humanism considers mankind to be his own deity with the ability to conquer all, comprehend all and satisfy all.  God, if He does exist, must be subservient to the whims of human aristocracy.  The chapels, cathedrals, and synagogues of this religion are schoolhouses, colleges and universities that do not tolerate a Creator.  His existence is a direct contradiction to the gospel of random chance which harbors no thought of judgment or accountability.  How convenient!

This system of worship enlists missionaries and enforcers who occupy government agencies.  Their sole responsibility is to prevent any opposing doctrine from entering their houses of worship;  i.e. creation, the Ten Commandments,  and accurate American history. These are anathema and must be eliminated.

On second thought, it may be just as well that some don’t enter into these discussion.  Some will fall in the category of Solomon’s assessment…”A fool hath no delight in understanding…” (Proverbs 18:2) or “A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul” (Proverbs 18:6).  I’m reasonably certain the king uttered those words after watching one hour of CNN!
