ANCIENT HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

November 14, 2017

According to Mr. Webster, “establishment” has a variety of definitions, but in Americana political speak the word refers to the ruling class in Washington, D.C.  The recent sniping at Mr. Trump by both Bushes is a clear indication that the “boys in the band” are getting nervous…has the Establishment fallen on hard times?  Really…you have to be kidding…not a word of criticism during eight years of Obama’s apologetic administration doubling the national debt, the implementation of crippling business regulation, economic stagnation, the serious degradation of our military, and the constant dribbling of gas on the fire of cultural deterioration.  Not one peep was uttered, but now with a booming economy, businesses returning to our shores, illegal immigration lower than it’s been in decades and America’s enemies actually being thoughtful about our response, the peanut gallery is sounding off.

This is all incomprehensible without some understanding of what the Establishment is and the methods they employ.  Power brokers have long been a part of human history dating back at least as far as the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11).  They have occasionally served for the benefit of humanity, but more frequently to its detriment.  Governments are ordained of God (Romans 13:1-7), but when they run amuck, that failure is due to the disregard for the Lord’s formula of ruling.  The longer the pooh-bahs are in office, the more the motivations and aspirations turn inward, which demands the protection of mutual consent from fellow poo-bahs.  Whether intended or just the natural flow of the political river, the pooh-bah club finds “establishment” with ever growing tap roots.  Some would think it impossible for those holding to separate political opinions to be member of the same fraternity, but not so; in the final analysis they all have the same goals ---political survival, recognition, and let’s not forget…”the love of money is the root of all evil” (I Timothy 6:10).

When the stately legislative oaks are threatened by the broad ax of Paul Bunyan or a coalition of loggers, the response is predictable from both sides of the aisle.  The Republicans had no more use for the Tea Party than the Democrats did.  The Pharisees and Sadducees differed greatly in theology and policy but found reason to band together against the common enemy ---Jesus Christ.  The stone that grinds in the millhouse has sung the same song for millennia; see the story of Samson in Judges 16.

When Nehemiah was commissioned by Artaxerxes the Persian king to return to Jerusalem for the purpose of rebuilding walls of defense, he was met with resistance issued by the local Establishment.  The tactics are universal and timeless, which makes their recognition quite simple:

Step one:  “But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do?” (Nehemiah 2:19).  When average citizens rise up to meet an obvious need (does anyone remember the wall conversation?), the guaranteed reaction of the VIP’s will be laughter cloaked in ridicule (Nehemiah 4:1-3).  Joe the plumber has no political experience; what could he possibly know?  Well---he knows that poop runs downhill, and he also knows that the guy laughing at him keeps trying to push it uphill.

Step two:  When derision falls short, stronger measures need to be considered.  The muck-a-mucks (previously named) “heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, and conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it” (Nehemiah 4:7,8).  Plan A was a proposal for a bi-partisan summit.  “That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono.  But they thought to do me mischief” (Nehemiah 6:2).  This political ecumenism is always designed to swallow up the opposition in rhetoric and double-speak.  The primary job of the liberal news media is to aid this process by bending the light rays of truth into words that accommodate the agenda.  Plan B introduced a systematic flow of rumors suggesting that Nehemiah and his crew were involved in collusion, rebellion and ever treason against the government that had granted them this extraordinary opportunity (see Nehemiah 6:5-8).  Nehemiah himself summed it up:  “then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.”  Clearly, emotion, not truth or logic, directs the behavior of the Establishment.

Step three:  Emphasize multi-culturalism which makes the opponents of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution look benevolent and caring.  Nehemiah 13 is a record of the infiltration of a “mixed multitude" ( v 13) that was intended to degrade the strength of the nation.  It must be remembered that the number one priority of the Establishment is to remain in power.  If that requires importing terrorists who will vote for them, the sovereignty of the nation can be sacrificed.  When you find pre-eminence being given to any group that has no regard or respect for our American heritage, you’re in a modern cultural take-over.  That isn’t racism, KKK, the White Nation, the Aryan Nation or white supremacy;  that’s history.  It is the truth.
