Dear Maxine Waters,
It has come to our attention that you are really mad - not just an ordinary run of the mill kind of madness, but blood pressure boiling, plasma vessel popping mad, mad, mad! Is it possible that your anger has morphed into the old definition of madness---crazy, loony, goofy, nuts, deranged, unbalanced? Dear Maxine, has the cheese slipped out of your sandwich? In the spirit of human compassion, please consider a suggestion; we have a niece who is married to a psychiatrist and an excellent therapist…may I make an appointment for you? The type of hostility you are expressing is not healthy - which puts me in fear for your well-being. We need you, Maxine; you and Nancy are the gifts that keep on giving.
Your recent admonishment to the Democratic drones to bully, harass, and generally bother GOP lawmakers, White House staff and others you deem the enemy was brilliant. The backlash from that behavior has been tremendous. I’m beginning to wonder if your apparent unhinged state is a political stunt. Come, come, Maxine…level with us. Are you sure you’re not a closet Conservative? Rush Limbaugh could not have designed a better plan. In any event, feigned anger or real, we love you, Maxine! Keep up the good work!
Representing the 43rd Congressional District of southern California and its diverse population must be quite a challenge. It is reasonable to assume that you have campaigned in scores of churches, particularly in those which have a predominately black congregation. Many black preachers are in the same camp as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson; they will be your friends, but caution must be exercised. Some are real Bible believers who may advise you to cool your jets and seek unity rather than pursuing constant divisiveness, which brings us to the conundrum I presently face.
From a pure political viewpoint your continued erratic conduct is a decided advantage to the conservative position. Peering exclusively through that looking glass, we applaud your activity, but as a preacher of the Gospel, I am compelled to encourage a higher and nobler goal than “politics as usual”. Cheering you on from the bleacher seats has been fun, but duty is calling to present the opinion of a third base coach.
Maxine, Biblically speaking, some anger is justifiable, but it must conform to the examples given to us in the Scriptures. The opponents of our Lord, who placed tradition above compassion, were hoping Jesus would heal a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath day so they might use that against him: “And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other” (Mark 3:5). Veterans with withered body extremities are often rudely ignored by a bureaucracy gone amuck. Maxine, why not become a strong and angry advocate for the troops? We realize that this issue doesn’t excite the base like the alleged separation of families at the border, but we also know the policies presently in force were activated during the Obama administration…are you angry at him?
“And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing; and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount” (Exodus 32:19). The Ten Commandments that were broken that day continue to suffer the same abuse to this day universally, but your district is in maximum harm’s way due to the grievous abdication of “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13). Gang bangers, along with the innocent, are murdered daily in the neighborhoods you represent. Dear Maxine, that is something to be extremely angry about. Your political history has been long on manufacturing problems, but short on construction of genuine solutions. The only answer liberals ever put forth is the spending of more government money. The culture needs to be changed; money often hinders this more than it helps. The babies on the slave ship of welfare need you.
Speaking of children: “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not..” (Mark 10:13,14). For decades small children in Sunday School have sung, “Jesus loves the little children, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight.” Dearest Maxine, does that include the aborted ones? Will you conclude your political career known as just another obnoxious baby kisser or a true baby protector? Break ranks with your fellow liberals and be remembered as someone who really cared about the children. Prove your rhetoric with your actions and your legacy will be forever cemented in the hearts of all who care for the kids. It will take courage to defy your caucus, but Jesus will help you….He loves the children and is much displeased when others don’t!
